Summer

The family is back together again!  It was a tough 7 weeks without Kevin around, but we made it!  A couple of my favorite stories from the big move.  Stellar mom moment #1: Driving home one night, Ronan reminded me that we forgot to stop at the grocery store to buy milk.  The thought of unloading 2 kids at 7:30 at night to buy milk made me want to cry.  Solution?  I went through the McDonald's drive-thru and ordered 4 milks.  I have now officially been grocery shopping at McDonalds.  Awesome.
Stellar mom moment #2: The boys and I came up to Erie about a week before the move and stayed with Kevin in his hotel room.  Judy (Kevin's mom), Simon, and I went back to Columbus to help the movers pack up the house.  I accidently brought Ronan's overnight diapers with me to Columbus.  Poor Simon was wearing size 6 diapers for 2 days.  As we were getting ready to leave on our 4 hour drive to Erie, we realized that Simon was wearing the last diaper that we had with us.  "Don't worry," says world's best mom "he has already pooped today, he won't poop again."  Just outside of Cleveland, he poops.  Oozing out of his diaper, down my mother-in-laws leg poops.  We pull over at a gas station that has no diapers.  Cat food, ponchos, and toilet plungers, mind you, but no diapers.  In a stroke of genius, I buy some maxi pads.  Judy was not impressed.  She then starts going from car to car, knocking on windows, and begging for diapers.  This was at 10pm and people were barely rolling their windows down for the crazy woman running around; but I hear screeching from across the parking lot "Thank you! Thank you!  Nora, I got one!!!!"  We were calling ourselves Thelma and Louise....but there was no Brad Pitt in sight.

Finally, the craziness of moving is finally winding down.  We are starting to settle in the new house and should be fully unpacked sometime in the next 3 years.  Ronan is loving the new house and extra room to run around, especially the back yard.  Ronan and Kevin camped out in "the magical forest" (in the backyard) last weekend.  More updates on Ronan for his big 3rd birthday coming up!

Big news!  Simon is 6 months old!  We were at the doctor's office yesterday and stats are as follows: Length: 28 in. (90%), weight: 18 lbs, 6 oz (70%), head: 95% (that's a serious noggin).  He is as cute and sweet as ever.  We've had some sleeping hiccups with the move but seem to be getting back on track.  He is rolling over (back to front), eating food (cereal, carrots, and squash), chatting, giggling, razzing, and his new favorite:  SCREECHING!

Alicia, Jenny, Sophia, and Anna came to visit us in Columbus while Kevin was gone.  Ronan and Sophia are arguing about whose mom is more awesome.  Answer:  Ronan's

Although, Sophia's mom does a mean underdog

Cute Sophia

Cute Sophia and Anna.

If only I could morph these two pictures and actually have a picture with both boys smiling.

Last trip to the Columbus zoo.

Both of my friends conked out on the way to the car.

Swimming with cousin Eli.  He wasn't so sure at first.

But he got the hang of it.

My little patriot

Ronan was very excited

Simon: not so much.  He slept through the first couple of minutes then woke up and seemed to enjoy the show.

Simon getting psyched for food.

First bite!  He is not so sure of food yet, maxing out at about 3 bites.

Setting up the tent

My view as I head inside.  "Mom, you can make smores with us.  You are not allowed in the tent."
