Vacation was a success! The drive went surprisingly well, and we only had to watch Bambi (with a key scene skipped per Kevin's request) about 7 times in the car. We all had a great time at the beach. As always, Ronan couldn't get enough of playing in the water. The pool was so cold that the other kids didn't want to swim in it, but not our fish, he jumped right in! Ronan and Cade had a blast together with only a few tense moments between the 2-year-olds. Thanks to JuJu and Boppy for the great vacation!!!
The first day at the beach was only about 65 degrees and cloudy, but that didn't stop Ronan!
His lips were blue for most of the day.
Warming up by, as Ronan would say, "playing exercise" A key theme of the week: "I know I have my own basketball (dinosaur, train, ect.) but yours looks better."
Some of the boys
A favorite game: running around in circles.
A meeting of the minds
Another favorite game: Walking backwards into the ocean.
Beach Bum
I accidently bought size 6 water diapers. It caused a bit of a problem in the crack department.
Getting ready for his first round of mini golf. It went as well as can be expected with a couple of 2-year-olds. Oh, that's just JuJu's head I cut off. Big deal, it's not like she organized and paid for this vacation. Oh, wait....
Did I mention it was Dinosaur mini golf?
This is Ronan's new "cheese" face. It makes him look angry. He is not.
We took a day trip to Charleston. We ate at a cute restaurant. Kevin was excited to get his picture taken with the "Godfather of Soul". Steve Guttenburg had also eaten there, so we knew it must be good.
We took a carriage ride and this was our horse, Cody.
I guess a historical carriage ride of Charleston isn't really his thing.
Don't take this kid to the beach if you do not want him to get wet.
This is Cade's "cheese" face. Oh, and that's Ronan dumping sand on his own head. We're pretty sure he's gifted. You know, like, college graduate at 13 gifted.
Wasn't quite ready for that wave.
An attempt at a cute picture. Nice work Kaylie! Kinda goes downhill from there with Ronan trying to steal Cade's toy (classic move, my man) and Reagan wishing her parents loved her enough to stop subjecting her to the madness.
The new "cheese" face again. I love it, as evidenced by the next photo.
A Winner!!!!! I spared you all from the eight shots I took before this one.
A perfect ending. This is how we ended up pretty much every night. Ronan and Cade enjoying a little Mickey Mouse. And yes, that is how hard Cade concentrates while watching Mickey.
