Big Brother

Ronan continues to be a great big brother.  I walked in the living room the other day where Simon was crying in his swing, and Ronan was frantically looking at the swing.  I asked "What's up, buddy?"  Ronan: "There is a problem with the swing."  Me: "What's the problem?"  Ronan: "Simon is crying in it.  That is a problem.  Take him out and give him a hug!"  At least someone is looking out for this baby.

Our biggest hiccup in being a helpful big brother was the day that Ronan declared "Pillow Fight!" and then walked up and smacked Simon in the face with a pillow.  After a time-out, Ronan told Simon "I'm sorry, Simon.  I didn't mean to do that....well, sometimes I do and sometimes I don't."  Honest kid.

Dudes

Ronan and Rogan got together last week to show of their little brothers.  Rogan is just 2 days older than Ronan and Magnus is 6 weeks older than Simon.  I think there is potential for plenty of trouble making when these four get together.

Just need to recruit a center and the team will be complete.

Two Handsome Guys

So, I have been trying to decide if the boys look alike.  I found these two tub pictures and wanted to compare.  I still can't decide if they look alike, but they are both pretty darn handsome.

The Boys

We have been home for a few weeks now and I wanted to post some of the pictures.  We are quickly settling in to our new schedule, which isn't really that different from our old schedule.  Simon seems to be changing daily and is chunking up nicely.

Ronan has been sharing nicely with his little bro.

Randomly sitting in the living room and eating watermelon.

Simon has been enjoying bath time.

So has Ronan--painting with JuJu.

Naptime is still a favorite around here.

"Hey buddy, where you going?  I'm fist pumping here!"

At least one of them is looking at the camera

So sweet!

Hard to believe this is what they turn into in two short years.

Introducing Simon Patrick!!

Finally some pictures of our newest addition!!  We welcomed Simon Patrick to the world January 27th at 7:46 am.  He was 20 1/2 inches long and 8 lbs 6 oz.  A big boy considering Ronan was only 7 lbs 5 oz!  Everything went well and we are quickly adjusting to life as a family of 4.  I spent most of my pregnancy thinking I was having a girl but had a dream about trying to save Ronan and another little boy from zombies about a week before Simon arrived.  I think it was an omen.  Now we just have to be on the look out for the zombies.
Simon is a chill little dude who seems to go with the flow (so far).  He has eaten like a champ pretty much from birth and is currently sleeping better than his older brother.  I am not ready to make proclamations about how long he is giving me at night, as Ronan has burned me many times in the past.  Ronan is adjusting great and is very loving toward his little brother.  He likes to give him kisses and always wants him to "wake up!"  I think he was expecting a bit more of a playmate.  We have had a ton of help so far from both grandmas which has been amazing.   This afternoon is actually my first time on my own with the boys and I have a feeling we will survive.  I will post even more pictures later as big bro just woke up from his nap.

Where's Simon?

Tried to post some Simon pictures today and was having some computer issues.  I will try again tomorrow!

Last Weekend

Before I post about our newest edition, I wanted to post a few pictures of Ronan's last weekend as an only child.  We made the most of our weekend, going to soccer, getting Ronan and dad haircuts and icecream, going bowling, and going to Cosi.  Here are some of the pics.

Soccer with Dad

Bowling with Dad

Ronan and I are at just about the same skill level when it comes to bowling.  Kevin, however, is apparently bowling at a 1st grade level.  Yes, there were bumpers.

Little man after his haircut.  So dapper.
