Tried peas tonight and little man was a little hesitant. He kept scrunching his face (see first picture), but then decided they weren't too bad. Delicious and messy.

Top Ten List
While hanging out with Ronan at 3am last night, I decided to try and think of some positives about him being up so often. I am pretty impressed that I was able to come up with 10 reasons. So hear we go...
Top Ten Benefits of Having a Baby that Doesn't Sleep:
10. It provides protection against kidnappers. I am pretty confident that if someone did take the little man, he would be swiftly returned after the kidnappers had to spend the night with him.
9. I have an instant bond with other mothers that have been through this. Whether my own mom, or my friend Jackie, or a woman who lives on the other side of the world, we will always have something to talk about.
8. It gives me something to complain about. Let's face it, I am not truly happy unless I have something to bitch about.
7. I can hold it over his head for the rest of his life. An example, "I don't care if you think it is absurd that your Economics class starts at 8 am. I thought that it was absurd that you were up four times a night at six months old. Deal with it, Pal."
6. There are days when I feel a great sense of pride because I have showered and dressed myself. It used to take real accomplishments to make me proud.
5. It gives me a reason to write a top ten list. I sense Letterman will be knocking on my door any day now.
4. I can only imagine that when he does sleep through the night, it will be the best sleep of my life.
3. I finally have an excuse for all the stupid things I do.
2. They say geniuses don't sleep as babies. Socrates, Newton, Einstein, move over, here comes McCann. I choose to ignore that he tried to eat a nail file yesterday and continually sticks the wrong end of the spoon in his mouth.
1. He's Ronan, and he's worth it!

6 Months
Ronan turns 6 months old tomorrow! He is rolling over a bit more (back to front) and is working hard on going front to back. He has made great strides this week in sitting up, going for longer and longer stretches. We are also diving into the delicious world of food! He is the perfect little man during the day...at night we are still working on his imperfections. I hate to harp on the subject so much, but he hasn't slept more than 2 hours in a row in almost two weeks (six month check-up, you can't come fast enough). Hopefully the doctor with have some advise...did someone say "Ferberize"? Oh well, he is still pretty darn cute.
Playing in the snow. More accurately, laying in the snow as he can't bend in that darn snowsuit.
Some Smiles
Trying out his duck tub (thanks Angie!). He strategically placed that star himself, no joke. He's nothing if not modest.
Like Father, Like Son. He has a whole suit (with suspenders) to match that hat. Thanks Elliot and Sarah!
Goofin' with Grandma
Yum, Squash!
Bottles, I don't need no stinkin' bottles!
Hanging out in his robe. Now all he needs is his own mansion and a few Playboy bunnies. (Do you think Hef wears Fuzzibunz diapers too?)

Yum!
Well, we are almost at 6 months! Kevin and I decided it was probably time to start the little man on some solid food. He has been staring at us while we eat for a while and has recently started watching Artie with envy as he eats. We figured if he is jealous of the dog and his dog food, we should probably give him a little something. He did great. He kept grabbing the spoon from me and got angry when I didn't get him the food quickly enough. Here are some pics. Video on the way.
Let's get this show on the road
Do I have anything on my face?

First Bite
Let me try that!
Not too bad
Week of Culture
We decided that Ronan needed a little culture in his life. We visited Franklin Park Conservatory (with Jules and Rogan) and the Columbus Art Museum. Lots of Chihuly glass...and one cool guy hair-do.

New Game
Grandma Jane has requested some new videos. Ronan was only up once last night (cue lights from heaven and angels singing), so I thought I would humor her today. This is a video of the new game Ronan has been playing. Sorry that it is not centered, I hope to get a better video at some point. Lots more pictures and videos coming. We will probably start some cereal this week which should make for some good photo ops.
